Project Management: exhibitions, events, public programmes and more

Online course by Node Center with Kate Brehme (neé Martin)

Whether developing an idea, running a workshop or organising an exhibition; all kinds of projects need management in order to make them succeed. Whether you are an (independent) curator, a project leader / coordinator or other cultural worker, practical project management skills are useful for all kinds of endeavors. Project management skills can help you run your day-to-day practice in a more efficient or organized way, as well as provide the framework for working on projects such as exhibitions, events, workshops and more.

This course will walk through all the basics of developing, executing and monitoring a project and will show participants how to develop and use tools such as time schedules, budget plans, risk assessments and monitoring/evaluation plans. A variety of examples and templates will demonstrate to participants the diversity of projects and possibilities. Within this course participants are asked to develop a (fictitious or real) project and complete a small practical assignment for every week’s session.
