The Henry Moore Foundation is seeking an Assistant Curator. UK

The Assistant Curator is based at the Foundation’s headquarters in the Hertfordshire hamlet of Perry Green, where Moore lived from 1940-1986. He/she reports to the Curator, carries out research and assists in organising exhibitions based on the collection.
The Foundation’s collection consists of approximately 12,000 objects including outdoor bronzes, wood and stone carvings, plaster maquettes and working models, 3,500 drawings and 8,000 graphics including original states and proofs. This diverse collection also includes tapestries and textiles.
Working closely with a small and dynamic team of curatorial, registrarial and conservation staff, the Assistant Curator will contribute to the organisation of exhibitions at Perry Green and venues throughout the world. This entails:
- preparing exhibition budgets
- corresponding with lenders and borrowing institutions
- compiling detailed exhibition lists
- assisting with installation
- preparing text for labels and wall panels
- coordinating catalogue materials
The Assistant Curator will be the initial contact for all enquiries relating to the attribution of works by Henry Moore. He/she will support the Curator with related research and the administration of the Authentication Committee.
In addition to the above, he/she will:
- write educational text for the Foundation’s volunteer guides
- contribute text for the exhibition and collection pages of the website
- update records on exhibition and publication history
The Assistant Curator will have a degree in the History of Art, possess strong writing and proofreading skills, have a good visual sense and willingness to travel.

Salary: £13,800, 3 days per week; 2 year contract (£23,000 pro-rata)
