Curator – Create London

12 month contract with the option to extend
Salary: £35k Pro Rata, 4 days a week

Create London was established as an independent Charity in April 2012. We are based at the Barbican Centre and our work is delivered by a small team of 4 full-time staff.

Create London exists to spread the benefits of being home to Europe’s largest cultural quarter to people living in east London. Despite having the highest concentration of artists and creative businesses in the UK, the area has low levels of cultural engagement and remains one of the most deprived parts of the country. Our work aims to bridge the traditional barriers of class, culture and education between artists and people from all social backgrounds.

We commission, co-commission and produce multi-disciplinary projects which explore new ways for art and creativity to connect with people in east London. We are committed to learning more about the positive benefits a vibrant cultural sector can share with those living in communities facing social challenges. Most of our work takes place outside traditional cultural spaces in east London and many of our projects are delivered in partnership with leading arts organisations.
