The Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv is searching for a new director and chief curator

The CCA was founded in 1998 as a small organization focusing on time-based arts. Since 2005, the CCA operates the Pollak Gallery building in downtown Tel Aviv where it runs an vibrant program of exhibitions, public events, educational programs and cultural discussions as well as a rich program of contemporary theatre, dance and music. The CCA is an independent institution, supported by the Israeli Ministry of Culture and the Tel Aviv Municipality as well as by foundations and individuals in Israel and abroad.

The CCA is looking for a charismatic and visionary professional with deep knowledge of international and Israeli contemporary art practices and experience in working or directing an institution similar to the CCA. He or she should have extensive experience in programming, curating and producing contemporary art as well as working closely with professionals in diverse disciplines.

The candidate should have proven fundraising skills. Awareness of the political complexities in the region, and the cultural challenges involved in operating in Israel is essential.

Work is expected to begin no later than December 2017 for a period of five years, extendable.
